First year Everblade Mike “Angie” Angelidis is a left-handed shooter who was born on 6/26/1981 in Markham, Ont., Canada.

Before joining the Blades, Angelidis played with the Owen Sound Attack (OHL).The 21 year old is single. When it’s not hockey season, he lives in Toronto, Ont.. He has two dogs. Some of his goals for this season include winning the Kelly Cup, being the best hockey player he can and get called up. Angelidis’s superstitions include doing the same routine.

Mike learned how to skate from his dad and hockey coaches when he was three. His cousins and brother also play hockey. His first car was a Chevy Cavalier. U2 is his favorite band and he listens to assortment in his car. To get ready for a game, he listens to Creed, Wolfmother and eats chicken with rice or pasta. After the game, he likes to eat anything.

Growing up, Mike followed Steve Yzerman and the Toronto Maple Leafs. His favorite city to play in London, Ont. and Kitchener is the arena he enjoys playing in best. Mike’s proudest moment was when he scored 50th goal last year, and knocking out Kitchener. Off the ice his favorite memory is holding a fundraiser in Owen Sound for mentally disabled kids. Some of the accolades he has accumulated throughout his career are humanitarian awards in OHL, LHL, and being named a first-team all-star last year in the OHL.

Being a Crystal Ice delivery and factory worker was Angelidis’s first job and if he wasn’t a hockey player he could see himself pursuing a career owning his own business as an entrepeneur. Mike’s favorite movie is Braveheart, and he likes to watch CSI on T.V. He admires his dad, mom, brother, sister and grandmothers.

When he’s not on the ice you can find Angelidis playing cards, Playstation 2, golfing or hanging out. He also likes to spend time volunteering and had a skills competition last year which raised $6,000 for disabled kids in the community. His favorite vacation spot is cottages and the Caribbean. If Mike had a million dollars, he would live life the way he does now, see the world.
