First year Everblade David “Briner” Brine is a left-handed shooter who was born on 6/6/1985 in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Before joining the Blades, Brine played with ATO and the Manitoba Moose.The 21 year old lives in Nova Scotia when it’s not hockey season. He has dog, a Nova Scotia Dock Toller. Brine’s goal for this season is to improve.

David learned how to skate from his dad when he was two and a half. His younger and older sisters and dad also play hockey. Toby Keith is his favorite musician, and he listens to country in his car. To get ready for a game, he eats chicken, wild rice and sweet potatoes. After the game, he likes to eat pasta.

Growing up, David followed Wayne Gretzky, Paul Kariya, Cam Neely and the Boston Bruins. His favorite city to play in Halifax, and Baie Comeau Quebec is the arena he enjoys playing in best. David’s proudest moment on the ice is winning. Some of the accolades he has accumulated throughout his career is earning the 2006 QMSHL defensive player of the year, 2006 MVP, top scorer, academic award, sportsmanship award, 2004 Mooseheads Rookie of the year, and 2004 and 2005 Unsung hero award.

Reffing was Brine’s first job and if he wasn’t a hockey player he could see himself pursuing a career in business. David’s favorite movie is Patriot, Rocky 5, Incredibles, Wedding Crashers and Monsters Inc., and he likes to watch Hockey night in Canada and Family Guy on T.V. He admires his family.

When he’s not on the ice you can find Brine playing cards, reading, golfing or volunteering at home. If David had a million dollars, he would do a lot.
